SKigerians

What the Heck is a SKigerian, you might ask:

A SKigerian is a Spanish Goat, Kiko and Nigerian cross

What is a SKigerian good for?

The SKigerian is a medium size goat for a farmstead, good for meat and milk both.

Now this is speculation, for I have not made one yet! As of February 2022, I purchased four Kiko/Spanish cross nannies, to cross with my Nigerian males. Why? Kiko’s were originally a feral goat, from New Zealand. They crossed it with three milk goats to give it more bulk, They are hardy and fairly parasite resistant. Recently people have been breeding Kiko’s with Spanish goats for even more bulk and also parasite resistance. I like the parasite resistant qualities, but want to give it back some of it’s milk quality; and bring it down a bit for a more manageable size for a medium size farmer like myself. Wish me luck, and stay tuned for my results.
